Philosophy
We are avid skiers and snowboarders. The passion for sports and nature is something we share in the team, with our students and customers. In the ski school we teach full of euphoria, pass on tips and tricks. Every day our students get better, learning groups or individually. It’s at least as delightful to experience the joy of winter sports in the background: We carefully order the best skiing and snowboarding equipment. We consider all perspectives – for beginners, the advanced and pros: Which ski has to be how for whom and then prepared? What characterises the ideal ski boot? 1991
Fürstauer ski school is founded

Hannes and Ucki Fürstauer established Fürstauer ski school in Saalbach. The couple met when giving skiing lessons. For many years they worked as ski instructors both abroad and at home. Their mutual passion for skiing and teaching is something they shared from 1991 in their own ski school, in which they could realise all their ideas.

1995
Children’s ski school

A matter of the heart for Ucki Fürstauer: The founding of the children’s ski school. Our little ones naturally learn differently than adults. From the very beginning, the children’s skiing lessons are designed to be fun and feature various activities. The impetus for this was the successful teaching of son Niki, who competed in the Ski World Cup until 2003 and later became a coach with the Austrian Ski Association.

2010
Change of generations

Already in 2008, son Niki Fürstauer with his wife Brigitta moved to Saalbach. In the year 2010, the official change of generations then followed: Niki Fürstauer took over management of Fürstauer ski school in Saalbach from his parents. Over several years, great titles such as State Champion of Ski Instructors in Giant Slalom, individual medals and team titles followed.

2014
Founding of Skifürst rent a ski

The focus became increasingly on providing ski service of the highest level and aiming to be a one-stop provider. 2014 Niki and Brigitta Fürstauer decided to open a ski rental with top-quality in Saalbach. Ever since, Skifürst rent a ski, in the centre of Saalbach, 72 m from the ski school office, has been known as a first port of call for ski and snowboard rentals, service, storage and accessories.

2021
Founding of Bikefürst

Saalbach is increasingly positioning itself as a bike destination in summer. From this arises the opportunity to turn the ski rental into a bike rental in summer. With this in mind, Niki and Brigitta Fürstauer opened Bikefürst in the summer of 2021: Bike school & rental, sales, shop and workshop in Saalbach.
